Gregory Scott Parsley, 58, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2025. Born on October 10, 1966, he was the beloved son of Lewis and Betty Parsley.
Greg was preceded in death by his sister, Crystal Parsley. He is survived by his devoted wife, Traci Hale Parsley; his son, Luke Parsley; his daughter, Brooke Stevens (Seth); and his grandsons, Jaxson and Declan. He also leaves behind several close friends who became like family over the years.
Greg began his career at Reynolds Metals Company and ALCOA, but his true passion emerged when he launched his own fishing charter business. Later, he founded Capt. Greg’s Seafood, which he operated for the past 15 years with heart, humor, and dedication. Greg treated his employees—especially the young people who worked alongside him—as extended family and welcomed every customer as a friend. He was known for his laid back personality, generous spirit, and the countless stories he loved to share.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. The disposition of ashes will be private.
Greg's warmth, wit, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
