George S. Kraynak - 83, of Mechanicsville, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Kraynak and Lillian Kraynak; his sister, Marcie Storck; and his son, Donald Bush. He is survived by his adoring wife of 53 years, Hannah Kraynak; his daughter, Joy Kraynak; his granddaughter, Lily Kraynak; his brother, Dennis Kraynak, and his wife, Carol Kraynak; his sister-in-law, Laura Lemmons, and her husband, Jeff Lemmons; and many other relatives and friends.
George grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and served his country in the US Navy. He was a devout Catholic and an active member of the Church of the Redeemer. He was a brilliant woodworker and distinguished tennis player. He enjoyed maintaining his house and his yard, and at times, he would patiently navigate these tasks with the “help” of children from the neighborhood. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be remembered for his gentle, steady presence, his enthusiastic bible study, and his ability to fix anything.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Church of the Redeemer, 8275 Meadowbridge Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception that will conclude at 1:00 PM.
