Vietmeier, Francis Lee, 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 18, 2026. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marcella Sean Armentrout Vietmeier; and his father, Francis (Frank) Anthony Vietmeier. He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Clare Lutz Vietmeier; his son, Timothy Lee Vietmeier; his daughter, Leanne Clare Vietmeier; his grandson, Joseph Michael Vietmeier; his great grandchildren, Cyrus, Cora, Damian, and Elias Vietmeier; his brother, John Paul Vietmeier; and sister-in-law, Virginia “Jenny” Marie Zana Vietmeier.
Lee was a medic in the United States Army, including time in Korea and at Walter Reed from 1958 to 1962. He married Arlene C. Lutz on June 2nd, 1962. Initially hired at A&P Grocery Store, then he transitioned to a job with Greyhound. At Greyhound, he was a driver and eventually trained the other drivers for the company. He was with Greyhound for 35 years. He was a proud member of the Knight of Columbus Council #11042 at Church of the Redeemer. Lee was heavily involved at the VFW and spent time as a dispatcher for the East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad, where he achieved the status of Life Member.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29th, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Church of the Redeemer, 8275 Meadowbridge Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. There will be a mass held on Thursday, January 29th, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Church of the Redeemer. The interment will be held on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd, Hanover, VA 23069.
