Frances R. (Roach) Taylor

TAYLOR, Frances R.; 95, of Mechanicsville, VA, entered eternal peace on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ivy Roach; husband, Nelson Taylor; and brother-in-law, Christopher Portwood. She is survived by her daughters; Dorothy Walker (Harold), Beverly Taylor, and Barbara Washington; grandchildren, Marian, Andrea, Georgia, Marcus (Harriett), Jacque, and  Delaney; great-grandchildren, Jameson and Lillian, whom she adored and cherished; and a sister, Nancy Portwood.  Frances spent more than 50 years volunteering her time to the East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad and was a life member of the rescue squad and auxiliary. She earned a presidential volunteer award for her 40 years of service. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 6 to 8 pm at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 1:30 pm at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd, Hanover, VA 23069. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad.
