Elsie J. Johnson

JOHNSON, Elsie J. – 88 of Mechanicsville, VA went to heaven, Tuesday, June 20, 2023. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Johnson; her parents, Charles, and Mary Jones; and her sister, Betty Turner. She is survived by her daughters, Judith Taylor (Eddie), Janet Taylor, and Jane Durvin (Tommy); six grandchildren, Shaun, Patrick, Justin, Jeremy, Joshua and Jennifer; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Elsie was a long-time member of Immanuel Episcopal Church, where she loved to share her beautiful voice in the choir. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a beach lover and enjoyed her trips to Emerald Isle. Elsie also cherished her many feline companions she had throughout the years. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.  A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Immanuel Episcopal Church, 3263 Old Church Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23111 with interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to your local animal shelter.
