BROACH, Donna Eileen Cooper; of Mechanicsville, Virginia, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. She was born on August 15, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois. Her family returned home to Georgia when she was 12 years old. She was a graduate of Southwest Dekalb High School, devoted wife and mother, and wonderful friend to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter G. Broach; her parents, David and Myrtle Cooper; her brother, Ronnie Cooper; and sister, Sylvia Goodman.
Mrs. Broach is survived by her son, Jim Broach; daughter and son-in-law, Becki and Bill Wines; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Charissa Wines, Adaline, Ezra, and Arie; Philip and Francesca Wines, Eliana; Corey Wines. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Debbie and Bill Mays, Sandy and John Cunningham, Alvin and Brenda Goodman, and Michael and Sherry Goodman; as well as many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many other family members and friends from the places she lived and the churches she so dearly loved.
Mrs. Broach raised her 2 children but also was a childcare provider in her home for over 30 years. She helped to shape those children and loved them and their families as if they were her own. She loved the Lord and was an faithful member of the following churches in the communities in which she and Walter lived: Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Decatur, Georgia; Northview Christian Church in Gwinnett Co, Georgia; Tri-Village Christian Church in Pataskala, Ohio; Surfside Christian Church in Surfside Beach, South Carolina; and from 2017, a devoted member of Gethsemane Church of Christ in Mechanicsville, Virginia. She loved to read, watch Hallmark movies, vacation at the beach and she loved most of all spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel, interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and family on Monday, April 7, 2025, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, as well as 9:30 - 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, prior to the funeral service. There will also be a Memorial Service held at Gethsemane Church of Christ, Mechanicsville, VA, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The family would also like to thank Monaghan Funeral Home in Mechanicsville, VA for caring for Donna while she was in Virginia and making her arrangements to return to Georgia.
