Tooley, Donald “Duck” Graves, 78, of Scottsville, VA; was welcomed into the great Kingdom of Heaven, Monday, July 10, 2023. Donald left behind his family who loved him dearly; his wife Elizabeth Tooley, grandson Michael Thurston and wife Patricia Thurston, granddaughter Marisa Thurston, and great-granddaughter Evelyn Dawn Thurston. Donald also left behind several estranged family members whom he missed greatly. Donald was preceded in passing by his parents Bill and Essie Tooley, his brother Roger Tooley, and his stepson; Jeffrey Thurston, whom he considered his own. Donald was an incredibly loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved hunting, fishing, working on cars, and telling stories to his family. His favorite thing to do was drive around the winding roads of the Appalachian Mountains with his grandson while listening to Merle Haggard. Donald was known to be extremely loyal and a very hard worker. He dedicated 45 years of his life to UVA and helped make it the beautiful school it is today. He retired 5 months prior to his passing in February 2023. Donald was a man of few words and anyone that knew him would define his character as well-mannered, humble, and kind. He will be greatly missed.
