Dominick Fabrizio Obituary

FABRIZIO III, Dominick R.; suddenly departed this life and went to meet our Lord in heaven on his 73rd birthday June 10, 2024.  Dominick was born in Summit, New Jersey on June 10, 1951, to Dominick and Vera Fabrizio of New Jersey. He is the oldest of five children. He is survived by his sister, Sandra Reo, his brother-in-law and friend Joseph Reo of Riegelsville Pennsylvania, and three other sisters. He is the father of Kelly Fabrizio and Michael Fabrizio of New Jersey. He is also grandfather to his granddaughter, Marcelina. Dominick grew up in the 1960s and always said these were the best years to grow up and experience life.  A time when life was simpler, and family spent more time together. His formative years were spent in South Orange, New Jersey, a place he absolutely loved. He attended New Providence High School in New Providence, New Jersey graduating in 1969. Shortly, after that, he served in the US Army and was honorably discharged. After leaving the army, he became a long-distance truck driver, a job he absolutely loved and enjoyed. He owned his own cab and managed a sole proprietorship business, hauling freight, machines, and furniture.

During his early years, Dominick led a band in high school as their bassist. He played cover songs for various small venues. The band’s most notable performance was the opening act for The Rascals. Dominick was a lifelong muscle car enthusiast.  He was a proud owner of a Chevy Chevelle Malibu during his younger years. Later in life, he owned several classic General Motors cars like Cadillac and Monte Carlo. Towards his later years, he owned a classic 1991 Ford F-150.  His most favorite activity in the fall and winter was watching football. He became a football fanatic and knew all the NFL teams, and players by name. This was ironic, since he hated football when he was younger. A few of Dominick’s notable talents were his impeccable memory and remarkable conversationalist. He remembered the minutest of details about family genealogy, family events, his truck driving years, and politics. Dominick’s talent as a conversationalist was unparalleled. He could talk on the phone for hours about almost anything. His sudden death has left an immeasurable emptiness in our hearts. He will forever live in our memories and hearts. We love you, our brother, neighbor and friend.

“A golden heart stopped beating.

Your tender hands at rest.

God took you home to prove to us.

He only takes the best!”
