Kovacs, David Michael, 72, of Aylett, VA., passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, at Shalom Gardens Health and Rehab. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to Virginia in 2020 to be closer to his daughter and her family. David was a graduate of Brentwood High School, Duquesne University, and Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing. He worked briefly for the FBI and served many years in the healthcare field working at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Mon-Yough Community Services, and Home Instead. He enjoyed archery, running, weightlifting, reading, and following his favorite Pittsburgh sports teams, the Pirates and the Steelers. David was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Kovacs; and his brother Doug Kovacs. He is survived by his wife, Sally Kovacs; his daughter, Beth Cole (Tyler); his Grandson, Landon Cole; and his brothers, Dan Kovacs (the late Grayce and the late Carolyn), Dennis Kovacs (Judy), and Darryl Kovacs (Sue); and numerous cousins. A celebration of David’s life will be held in Pittsburgh on a future date. In Lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Ste 800, Miami, FL, 33131.
