HOUSEHOLDER, David Wesley, age 84, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2026.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bernie Charles Householder; his mother, Sophia Mae Baumgardner Householder; his sisters, Mary Ann Graham and Geroldine Bustus; and his brother, Clifford Householder.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Martha Simpson Householder. He is also survived by his children, Mark Alan Householder (Melanie) and Ann Householder Murphy; his granddaughter, Kattie Chabot (Daniel) and two great grandchildren, Macey and Dylan; his granddaughter, Jessica Vance (Jordan); and two great grandsons, Griffin and Graham; his only grandson, Jacob Thomas Murphy; his granddaughter, Peyton Elizabeth Householder; and his brother, Michael Householder of Iowa.
He spent the majority of his career with United Parcel Service, Smith's Transfer and McLean Trucking. He was also a small business owner with a convenience store and laundromat in the Richmond area. But his most loved vocation was in the ministry where he was a full-time pastor for 10 years with the Friends Church.
David loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with a fervor. When he wasn't with his family his interests included fellowship with the members of Hanover Friends Church, lunch and golfing with his friends, and working out at the Mechanicsville American Family Fitness. He was a lifelong learner and enjoyed taking courses of all types. David also served proudly in the United States Army.
