Dale Louis Quarterman

QUARTERMAN, Dale Louis, 81, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Helen Quarterman. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Roshanak Ghazinouri Quarterman; and his two sons, Naveed Quarterman and Omeed Quarterman. Dale was an extremely talented artist. He held a master’s degree from Illinois Institute of Technology in Photography. He owned a photography business for 40 years. He worked at VCU as a merit professor and chairman of the photography department. Dale’s areas of specialization are studio lighting, large format photography, interiors, pinhole photography and fine art photography. His fine art photographs have been widely published in popular and scholarly books and magazines and exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at major venues including the Museum of Modern Art, NYC; George Eastman House, Rochester, NY., the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and Nexus Incorporated in Atlanta, GA. He loved making art in all forms whether it be photography, painting, or sculpting. He enjoyed spending time outside in nature. The family is having a Celebration of Life at a later date in Rochester, NY.
