STEVENS, Curtis “Sonny”, went to be the Lord on April 2, 2026. He was a member of Fairmount Christian Church. Sonny was born and raised in Richmond, VA and resided in Sandston, VA. He loved helping others and his church with his skills as a cabinet maker. His family remembers the camping trips, his love of nature and trips to Goff Mountain every year. He will be remembered most for his woodworking and his love of animals and especially snakes. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Virginia Golding Stevens, oldest son, Curtis Stevens, Jr.; and his grandson, Kenneth “Kenny” Gooch, II. He is survived by his sister, Joyce Stevens Stafford; his children, Jennifer Gooch, Kathleen (Tony) Griffin, James (Jane) Stevens, and Craig (Michelle) Stevens; his grandchildren, Melonie (Chad) Alligood, Daniel (Devon) Gooch, Anthony Curtis Griffin, Victoria Stevens, and Emily Stevens; and his 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 9th, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM, at Fairmount Christian Church, 6502 Creighton Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. The interment will be private.
