Catherine Patricia (Johnson) Dix

DIX, Rev. Dr. Catherine Patricia “Pat” – 66 of King and Queen, went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, December 9, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her children's father and husband of over twenty years, Ronald L. Dix. She is survived by her husband, Grover Carpenter; her children, Christopher Dix (Lesley), Aaron Dix (Lauren), Jonathan Dix (Ashley), and Raven Newcomb (Lee); eleven grandchildren, Lamar, Christopher Jr., Ronald, Layla, Eliana, Jaylin, Kelani, Jonathan Jr., Whisper, Jasper, and Juniper; twelve siblings, Margaret Brown, Dorothy Justice, Gwendolyn Reed (Joe), Jacqueline Johnson, Jeanette Scott (William), James Johnson Jr., Juanita Johnson, Vivian Grant, Barbara Johnson, Roosevelt Johnson, Richard Johnson, and James Roane; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pat was a 1975 graduate of John Marshall High School. She retired from Verizon after thirty years of service. She was an ordained minister, (known as Pastor Pat) and Dean of the Bible College at Lighthouse Christian Center of Highland Springs, where she served the Lord and her community for many years. Pat was a strong-willed woman, with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved traveling, family gatherings, playing with her grandchildren, and serving the Lord. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, December 14, 2023, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, 8400 St. Peters Lane, New Kent, VA 23124. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor and memory can be made to Lighthouse Christian Center, 406 E. Nine Mile Road, Highland Springs, VA 23075.
