Carolyn Crew Shortt

SHORTT, Carolyn - 83, of Mechanicsville, passed peacefully at her home, on December 5, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Edward and Charles Crew; lifelong friend, Betsy Davis; and her grandson, Aaron Shortt. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Wayne “Butch” Shortt; sons Gary (Debbie) and Rick (Kimberlee); grandchildren, Lindsey and Emmett; and niece, Terry Cooper (Steve). Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved taking trips with her husband Butch, on their Harley, bowling, line dancing, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 pm, Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy. Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
