Obituary
BAKER, Carol Sadler - 85, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, and Martinsburg, WV, peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on Saturday, July 29, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Alberta Sadler; sister, Joanne Otley; and brother, James Sadler. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Baker; brother, Edward Sadler; sister, Peggy Bland; sons, Stephen Baker and James Baker (Lindsey); and grandson, Jake Baker. Born in Tennessee, Carol graduated from the Vanderbilt School of Nursing. She and Richard raised their two sons in Maryland, and retired to West Virginia with her family. Carol was a long-time member of the National Christian Choir and local church choirs. She enjoyed gardening, trees, and birding. She loved her family and the Lord and was a devoted wife and mother. Her favorite verse was “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, August 7, 2023, at Hanover Memorial Park Cemetery, 4447 Mechanicsville Tpke Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A memorial service will begin at 11:15 am at New Bethesda Baptist Church, 9019 New Bethesda Rd Mechanicsville, VA 23116. Memorial donations can be made to Cru at give.cru.org.
