Carl E. Woods, Sr.

Woods, Sr., Carl E. – 85 of Mechanicsville, VA passed away after a short illness on Friday, August 25, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Brooks Woods; mother, Flossie Frances Brown; and sister, Patricia Woods Lawyer. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Sue Parrish Woods; sons, Carl E. Woods, Jr. (Donna), Paul Brooks Woods (Diane), Thomas Alan Woods (Kathy); six grandchildren, Christopher Woods (Christina), Stephen Martin Woods (Jackie), Matthew Scott Woods (Rachel), Daniel Brooks Woods (Lauren), Katie M. Woods Thomas (Justin), Melissa Woods Bailey (Steven); and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom he was very proud. Carl was a dedicated United States Air Force veteran. He retired from IBM at 53 and spent many years traveling the world with his wife, Sue. A private interment will take place at the Amelia Veteran’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
