Betty Anderson Selden

SELDEN, Betty Anderson- 76 of Mechanicsville, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Selden, Sr.; her parents, John E. Anderson, Sr., and Doris Pemberton Anderson; brothers, William and Donald Anderson and daughter-in-law, Stacey Selden. She is survived by her three children, Henry L. Selden (Jamie), Jr., Steven Selden, Sr., and Rebecca Selden; six grandchildren, Justin Selden, Daniel Loving (Ebony), Steven Selden, Jr., Corey Selden, Ryan Selden, and Ashlei Selden (Matt); two great-grandchildren, Jacob Selden and Nala Loving; three brothers, John Anderson, Jr., Wayne Anderson, Sr., and Ronald Anderson; her beloved fur babies, Pumkin and Gabriel; and many other extended family and friends. Betty retired from Phillip Morris in 1998 after thirty years of faithful service as a machine operator. She had a zest for life and enjoyed working outside in her garden, dancing, traveling adventures, and weekend trips to the casino to try her luck at the slots and playing Texas Hold’em. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and cherished the time she spent with her family. The family will receive friends from 11 am – 12 pm, Saturday, January 13, 2023, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111, with a funeral service to begin at noon. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
