Alma Jean Sawyer

SAWYER, Alma “Jean” 73 of Henrico went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her father, Robert, and mother, Irene; and two sisters.  She is survived by her daughters, Beth, Michelle, and Amy; grandchildren, Charles, Jeremy, Matthew, Brandon, Brittany, and Dillon; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Lorelei, Oliver, and Wesley; sister, Kay; and her nephew, Jody “the son she never had.”  Mom was a very hard worker and loved her family and friends. Her best times were spent cooking. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm, Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA  23111.  A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave., Richmond, VA 23238. A reception will follow at Hanover Auto Repair, 8175 Patrick Henry Blvd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
