SMITH, Sr. Allan K., 86 of Mechanicsville, VA. went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2026. He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Smith; and brother, James Franklin Smith. He is survived by his brothers, Wesley E. Smith and Steven M. Allan was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was a dedicated public servant, proud veteran, and passionate historian who leaves behind a legacy of bravery and curiosity.  Allan was a veteran of the United States Air Force National Guard, where he served for four years and carried the values of duty and honor throughout his life. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant before his retirement in 1990, having spent nearly three decades protecting his community. Beyond his professional life, Allan was a man of many interests. He found peace in the simple joys of farming and fishing and always felt most at home outdoors. His fascination with history lead to his avid collection of Civil War and Native American relics.
