Albert “AJ” Negvesky Jr., 59, of Mechanicsville, gained his angel wings on June 17, 2023. AJ is the oldest son of Mary Mayola Negvesky, and the late Albert Negvesky. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Leigh Carrel Negvesky; three wonderful children, Lauren Pinson (Kevin), Karen Negvesky, and Christopher Brannan; beloved grandson, Colton Pinson; sister, Audra Johnson (Eric and Donny); sisters-in-law, Debbie Negvesky (Adam and Amanda), and Donna Sehn (Jeff) (Alex and Cassie). AJ was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was a Lead Platform Engineer with Capital One and worked on countless projects over his 27-year tenure. He was a wonderful woodworker and enjoyed riding his Harley, throwing the ball with his dog Bandit, chasing Colton around, and beating Leigh at Wii putt-putt. To family and friends, AJ will always be remembered for his ability to lend a hand or offer advice for anything, grill a perfect flank steak, and leave the whole room laughing. While his presence will be missed greatly, we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his dad and brother Andy. Our family will never forget the lessons he taught us, the light he shined in our lives, and the kindness he showed us along the way. The family will receive friends from 1 – 4 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations in AJ’s memory can be made to Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC.
