Travis Dwayne Via

VIA, Travis Dwayne; 44, of Mechanicsville, VA, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 17, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Ray Via, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Margaret and Leslie Courtney, Jr.; and paternal grandparents Kenneth Ray Via, Sr. and Mary Eleanor Tate; all of Mechanicsville. Travis is survived by his devoted parents, Betty and Edward Barnette; siblings, Justin Via (Sarah), Joshua Barnette, Troy Barnette (Kristie), and Tiffany Barnette; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and one nephew. Travis served in the US Army from 1995-1998. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved to cook, (but not clean up the mess) reading, writing poetry, and spending time with his family and friends. He always made the best of a bad situation. Travis had a kind heart and a contagious laugh, and he never met a stranger. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be forever missed. A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm, Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Black Creek Baptist Church, 6289 McClellan Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the church in his honor.
