Robert John (BJ) SCHMIDT

SCHMIDT, Robert J. (BJ), 86, of Mechanicsville, VA (formerly of New York), went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 14, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents. BJ is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Joyce (Dee-Dee) Schmidt, one daughter; Jennifer Batista (Raymon), a grandson; Samuel Batista, his beloved fur babies; Molly and Sandy; and his friends and angels on earth, Kelley Langford, Scott Kirby, and Olga Cupp. BJ was a Sgt. in the US Air Force, a member of the Shriner’s, and retired from New York Telephone. He loved playing the drums in the band and had an unfathomable love of trains! He also cherished his time spent with his darling wife on their porch swing. The family will receive friends, Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6 -8 pm at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA where a Funeral Service will be held, Friday, July 20, 2018, at 11 am, with interment to follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
