Robert Henry Moran, Jr.

MORAN, Jr., Robert, H. 93, of Mechancisville, VA went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 28, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Annie Moran; siblings, Bernard, Marie, Rowland (Skeeter), Eugene; a nephew, “Bubba” Moran; as well as his beloved wife Doris “Tootsie” Moran. Robert will be remembered by his daughters, Sandra Hare (Starkey) and Marie Seniunas (Anthony); six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Robert proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a faithful member of the Catholic Church of the Redeemer as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW Post 9808 of Mechanicsville. The family would like to thank Dr. Angelina Jovine; his beloved doctor and the VA Hospital, as well as the kind and compassionate staff who cared for him in the hospice unit. The family will receive friends, 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm, Friday, February 1, 2019, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10 AM, Saturday, February 2, 2019,  at Church of the Redeemer, 8275 Meadowbridge Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116. Interment will immediately follow at Hanover Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert’s name to the Knights of Columbus, c/o Church of the Redeemer, 8275 Meadowbridge Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
