Patricia Kathryn (Ottinger) Wilson

WILSON, Patricia Kathryn Ottinger, 82, left this earthly realm on Sunday May 6, 2018, after a brief decline in her health, to join her husband in heaven. She is survived by her daughter Kathryn Conley; granddaughters, Kat Marine and Samantha Conley; her sister, Donna Kay Bauer; niece, Kelly Baker Klipp (Marty); nephews, Brad Baker and Jami Baker (Denise); son, Nathan Wilson; and multiple extended family members in Indiana. Pat was a former nursing instructor at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lafayette, IN and Johnston –Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA. Her nursing career spanned nearly 40 years. She initially desired to serve as a missionary nurse to Africa and consistently studied and used her medical knowledge to educate and assist others. Her fondness for sewing and crafts occupied her time and allowed her to share her gifts with so many others in her life. She loved to see her family and friends spread cheer and fellowship of the Bavarian customs of folk dancing, frequently assisting in the making of traditional dirndls for friends and family. Her faith was her crowning glory and her quiet study and prayer life was a model for many others; as she served as a pastor’s wife, and faithful church member in numerous congregations, where her husband Dale Wilson was assigned. Her ultimate wish was for her family and loved ones to become believers in Jesus Christ and be prepared for His Kingdom. May she dwell in the house of the Lord forever. The family will receive friends Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Crossings at Hanover, 8227 Meadowbridge Rd. Mechanicsville, VA 23111, on the second floor, from 4pm-6pm. A memorial service will follow immediately after at 6pm.
