Jeanne (Commins) Blake

BLAKE, Jeanne Commins, 90, of Aylett, VA departed this life Monday, October 15, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Blake Sr.; parents, James Roane and Kate Ritchie Commins; a sister, Charlotte C. Campbell and a brother, Beverly H. Commins. Jeanne is survived by her children, Cathy B. Moody (Robert) and Edward L. Blake Jr. (Anita); four grandchildren, Katherine R. Moody, Spencer B. Moody (Ashley), Shannon B. Kosek (Patrick) and Sarah R. Blake; three great-grandchildren, Sarah Grace Kosek, Addison Kosek, Blake Kosek; a sister, Nancy C. McFaden (Pat) and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jeanne was a lifelong member of Sharon Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, and cooking, but her greatest love was spending time with her family. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111; where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 11 am. A private interment will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery Association, 901 Sharon Rd., King William, VA 23086.
