HAZELWOOD, Henry Cullen, 18, of Mechanicsville, VA passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019. The fact that he was born weeks early on June 22, 2000; graduated Lee- Davis High School at age 16 in 2017; and died far too soon, were off-set by the fact that he was late every single day of his life. People only want to talk about how he died but let’s talk about how he lived. As a life-long Hanover boy, Cullen loved fishing, football, food, friends and family. He was a hard worker, loyal friend and sly jokester. He loved inappropriate music but could not dance. He fit in everywhere with everyone, and always took up for the underdog. He is survived by his broken- hearted family; mother, Christy Farmer; father and stepmother, Rob and Mason Hazelwood; his beloved big- brother William; grandparents Bill and Ann Hazelwood and Dean and Janice Singleton; the two aunt Amanda’s, Amanda Sylvester-Williams (Ryan) and Amanda Rumans (Chris); two uncles, Billy Douglas and Matthew Singleton (Camille); a large extended family and so many friends. We wish him safe travels and soft landings. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hanover Humane Society. The family will receive friends, Monday, May 13, 2019 from 12 – 2 pm at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, 7046 Cold Harbor Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23111, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park. The family requests that all those attending dress casually, preferably in Cullen’s beloved Redskins attire.
