Hattie Mae Stewart

STEWART, Hattie Mae; 86, of Richmond, VA (formerly of Leicester, NC) went to her heavenly home, June 28, 2019 where she was reunited with her loved ones who went before her; her husband, Daniel B. Stewart, Jr., son, Daniel “Mickey” Stewart, parents, Claude and Lula Sealey, and siblings, Oliver, Blanche, and Ulan. Hattie leaves behind her 6 daughters, Dorothy Francis, Betty Jessie, Karen Stewart, Clara Myer, Susan Robinson (Charles), and Beverly Dees (Wilbur); 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Nancy and Marie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Hattie enjoyed a long career as a seamstress. She was employed over the years by Elegant Draperies, Specialty Drapery, and Accent Drapery. During this time, she worked on many special projects including the Governor’s Mansion, City Hall, and Jimmie Dean’s Home. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and had a great love for animals, but her greatest love was for her family. The family will receive friends, 4 – 8 pm, Monday, July 1, 2019, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dover Men in Ministry Program or At Home Care Hospice.
