Florence Josephine Webb

WEBB, Florence Josephine Atkins; 81, of Mechanicsville, VA entered eternal rest, Friday, August 2, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie Stone Cook and Clarence Cook, and her son, Billy Myers. She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Paul D. Webb; stepchildren, Kathleen Webb Kesner, Jennifer Schmick (Joel), Paul Webb Jr. (Teresa), and Susan Webb Phillips (Allan); her late son’s children, Paul Myers (Alaina), Ciji Myers, and Lindsey Myers; and a multitude of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren and extended family and friends. Josephine graduated from John Marshall High School in 1957. She retired from A.H. Robins and enjoyed spending time with the “Rockin’ Robins Retiree” group. Jo possessed a special gift of brightening up a room with her smile and her wonderful sense of humor. She loved Elvis Presley, (to the point of obsession) and adored Ricky Van Shelton. She was an angel on earth and will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 7, 2019, from 12 – 2 pm, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy. Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a funeral service will be held at 2 pm. A reception will follow the service at the Gethsemane Church of Christ pavilion. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Encompass Hospice for their loving and compassionate care for Jo and her family during these last months of her life.
