Carla Lee (Greene) Thaw

THAW, Carla Greene, 68, of Mechanicsville, VA (formerly of Richmond) went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 14, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Preston and Clara Satterwhite Greene, and a brother Carl Greene Jr. Carla is survived by her loving husband of almost 42 years, Richard Thaw; two daughters, Caren Franks (Dwayne) and Anna Martin (Brandon); six grandchildren, Brittany, Hunter, Aspen, Jackson, Beaude, and Cannon; a great-granddaughter, Sailor; sister, Deborah Greene, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Carla proudly served in the US National Guard Army Reserves. She was also a secretary for CNB Bank and Richmond Community Hospital. Carla gained great joy from serving her beloved Black Creek Church as a Sunday School Teacher in Noah’s Nook. She loved camping and searching for treasures at yard sales. Carla was always full of life and tirelessly served her entire family and her church. The family will receive friends, Friday, November 16, 2018 from 10 – 11 am, at Black Creek Baptist Church, 6289 McClellan Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a Celebration of her life will be held at 11 am, immediately following the visitation.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to God’s work at Black Creek Baptist Church.
