Davis,Taylor Christine; of Hanover County passed away on September 8, 2022. She is survived by her parents, John Davis and Lisa Seal, sister, Ashlyn Davis, grandparents George “Boogie” and Janice Seal, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Taylor was born on July 30, 1993. As a child, she competed in roller hockey and nationally in figure roller skating and developed an affinity for horses fostered by her grandmother Joan Custalow, who preceded her in death. She graduated with honors from the International Baccalaureate program at Hanover High School in 2011 and with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and psychology from the University of Virginia in 2015, where she joined Sigma Sigma Sigma. Taylor, an avid reader, could converse with ease about almost anything—including in fluent Spanish--and made others—even those she didn’t know long or well—feel comfortable, heard, and understood. She had a strong sense of justice and often took up the cause of those she felt were unfairly treated and protected those she considered vulnerable, even at personal cost to herself. She gave a home to stray cats she could coax to trust her and gave food and a watchful eye to those who were too world-wary. Taylor cherished family gatherings, which will not be the same without her quick wit and banter and generous laugh. She touched so many lives throughout hers, and she is boundlessly loved. A celebration of life will be held 11am, Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. She will be laid to rest in a private graveside service in her family section at Essex Cemetery in Tappahannock. The family requests that those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation to Journey House Foundation, https://journeyhouserecovery.networkforgood.com.
