Robert B. Brown

BROWN, Robert B., 66, of Mechanicsville, VA went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 20, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherley, and Laura Brown. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Carole Brown; 2 children, Angela Kelly and her husband, Dan, and Rachael Palen; 4 grandchildren, Mariah Nichole and Easton Robert Kelly and Mario and Jean Palen; 3 siblings, Donnie and Ronnie Brown and Linda Black; his fur baby, Brody, and many devoted friends. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He adored his family and always treated his beautiful wife like a queen. Together they enjoyed traveling to many exciting destinations. He loved Christmas and always went out of his way decorating and doing everything he could to make the holidays special for his wife and family. Robert proudly served his country in the US Navy. He also dedicated over 35 years to serving his community as a police officer for multiple agencies.  Ten years ago, Robert defied all odds and gained a new lease on life when he was blessed to receive a double lung transplant. After his surgery, he remained healthy and strong up until his passing. His family will be forever grateful for that extra ten years they got to share with him. He was a kind and generous friend and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The family will receive friends, from 12 pm to 2 pm Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Fairmount Christian Church, 6502 Creighton Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Internment with Navy Honors will be at 1 pm, Friday, September 30, 2022, at Amelia Veterans Cemetery.
