Shumaker, Frances, 86, of Mechanicsville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 28, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, George Shumaker, Jr. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Mike Robinson and Patty and Larry Pitts; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Kathy Shumaker; six grandchildren, Jaime York (Ty) and Jeff Robinson (Renee), Steven Pitts (Emily Rubinson), Kenny and Keith Shumaker (Lauren), Chelsea Orlando (Jack); and 9 great-grandchildren, Calvin, Emma, Meghan, Carson, Mason, Kylie, Lucas, Margot, and Amelia; and her beloved canine companion ChuChu. She also is survived by her sister Martha “Moppy” Chalkley, and many close friends and family. She was a member of Shalom Baptist Church and a long-time member of Sandston Baptist Church. She had a passion for local and international missions throughout her life. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, August 2, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, followed immediately by a celebration of life at 11 a.m. A private interment will take place at Washington Memorial Park at a later date.
