BROOKS, James “Jimmy”; 66, Of Mechanicsville, VA went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 17, 2020. He is survived by his best friend, soul mate, and wife of 43 years, Tammy Shope Brooks; two sons, Kenny Lee Brooks and Steven James Brooks (Mary-Ann); one grandson who was his pride and joy, Jackson Chase Brooks; his fur baby, Haley; his mother and father-in-law, Bucky and Barbara Shope; and many other friends and family. Jimmy was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved camping with his buddies and family, cooking and grilling, and his LSU and Steelers football. The family will receive friends, from 2- 4 pm, Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A Graveside Service will be held at 3 pm, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
