Edward Machalski

Machalski, Edward of Mechanicsville, VA, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022. He was born on August 17, 1946, in a displaced persons camp in Wetzlar, Germany, and arrived in the US on August 9, 1949. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tadeusz and Marianna Pukala Machalski; his brother, Richard; grandson, Cody James Taylor; nephew, Randy Guthrie; brother-in-law, Dale Powers; and sister-in-law Jeanne Powers Reeves (his wife’s twin). He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Janice Powers Machalski; his sons, Christopher Edward Machalski (Donna Rudolph) and Tony Machalski (Maria); his grandchildren, Olivia, and Nadia; sister-in-law, Millie Powers Brock; and a very special niece, Sherrie Guthrie Foreman. Edward served in the US Air Force from 1966 – 1970 in Vietnam. He retired from Phillip Morris after 29 years of faithful service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, relic hunting, spending time with his great neighbors, and having fun with his family. Edward was a great and caring man and will be dearly missed by many. The family will receive friends from 2 – 6 pm, Monday, September 12, 2022, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111. Friends are invited to meet at Forest Lawn Cemetery 4000 Pilots Lane, Richmond, VA at 11 am, Tuesday, September 13, 2022, as his Air Force honors are presented at the graveside.
