Walter H. Johnson Jr.

JOHNSON, Jr., Walter H.  – 80, of Mechanicsville, VA, departed this life, Thursday, October 18, 2018. He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Scott Johnson and is survived by Dorothy Halfpap Johnson and Albert C. Johnson. Walter was born in Agana, Guam into a US Navy family. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and a former Virginia State Trooper; and retired from the Federal Highway Administration Office of Motor Carrier Safety. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 4 – 6 pm and 7 – 9 pm, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy. Mechanicsville, VA 23111. A Funeral Service will be held at 6 pm, Tuesday, October 23rd in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at 1 pm, Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Ave., Suitland, MD 20746. In lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Walter H. Johnson Jr. (711), can be made to the Virginia State Police Association Emergency Relief Fund, 6944 Forrest Hill Ave., Richmond, VA 23255.
