Harold "Butch" Vincent Thompson III

THOMPSON, Butch; 62 of Mechanicsville, VA passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ann Thompson. Butch is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Anita Thompson; one daughter, Nikki Dobyns (Gordan); a beloved granddaughter, Makala Dobyns; and his siblings, Byron Johnson, Dale Thompson, Gary Thompson, Michelle Thompson and Penny Jo Fromeyer. Butch proudly served his country for 8 years in the US Air Force. He was employed with Raytheon, as an HVAC tech/ electrician for 33 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose for 32 years, where he served on the board 3 times. Butch enjoyed golf, bowling, and gardening with his granddaughter; but his greatest passion was spending time with his beloved family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 pm, Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 pm. The family requests that if flowers are sent, that they be transplantable or houseplants; so that they can be shared and enjoyed for years to come.
