I just wanted to thank you and the entire Monaghan team for a job extremely well done.

Going into Monaghan for the first time, I was expecting much less than I received. In past experiences, I found funeral homes to be “stiff” (no pun intended), boring, and morbid. I must say, that wasn’t the case at Monaghan at all. You made the experience almost enjoyable. I cried and I laughed. Not at all what I expected. I thank you, Tammy, for making this ordeal as pleasant and comfortable as it could be.

My mother was always very particular about her appearance. Because of experiences in the past, I was very nervous to see her for the first time, not only because of my emotions, but also because I was afraid of how she would look. Most of my deceased relatives and friends looked nothing at all like themselves when they were living. Not that a deceased person looks “alive,” but they shouldn’t look like someone you don’t even recognize! But, wow, Mama looked amazing! She would have been extremely proud of how she looked! She was beautiful and so was her casket. It wasn’t just me that thought that… all who were in attendance of her service commented on how pretty she looked; that she looked so much like herself, but 10 or more years younger! Please thank the team there at Monaghan for a wonderful job on making her look so beautiful.

I would also like to thank any and everyone who was involved in the service itself. I received a lot of comments on how beautiful the service was. Not only the speeches, but also on how wonderful of a job the folks at Monaghan did. I will admit that I was nervous that things wouldn’t run as smoothly as I hoped they would. But I couldn’t have been more wrong! Everything went seamlessly! Please share with all who were involved with my mom’s service just how wonderful they made such a sorrowful occasion.

Yes, I would absolutely recommend Monaghan Funeral Home to anyone who is in need of the services you all provide!

I would love to take the time to share what a special funeral home Monaghans is. The staff there is all very efficient and knowledgeable But the exception is Thomas Monaghan. He was not only professional but a caring, compassionate, attentive person. He started my husband’s funeral as his first one on his own. I can say he was there from beginning to end and way beyond happily. He took all the time I asked for and more. He made sure the memorial was on time. He guided me thru all the pain and grief l had to offer with Grace. Thomas made sure the funeral at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery was handled perfectly. The Cemetery doesn’t allow wife nor family grave side until after the burial. Thomas promised me he would stay with my husband until everything was completed. He carried out that promise on a rainy day, thanks to hurricane Ivan. Thomas then continued his compassionate, caring person that he is on indefinitely after that day. I conclude saying you can trust Monaghans for your funeral needs.

I would like to take this time to extend a heartfelt thank you to Monaghan Funeral Services. Thank you to Burt, Tammy and Niely. From the time of my first conversation Tammy eased so much hurt and pain with her heartfelt words of sympathy and her experiences. To Burt, your welcoming hospitality that you so graciously extended to make our visit comfortable. Niely, your presence with us on Saturday posed a smooth transition for the family. The experience of losing a loved one is never easy, but the folks at Monaghan made the process of final arrangements as stress-free as I could ever have imagined. I also found their services to be very reasonably priced, and the personalized care you receive is incomparable. Burt & Tammy are kind, thoughtful, and thorough. When we lost our daughter, Megan, we were beside ourselves with grief. Obviously, my husband and I were in no way ready to deal with planning a funeral.

I can't say enough to express how wonderful our experience was with everyone at Monaghan's. Burt and Tammy were just great. They really made us feel like family, and helped us through the whole process.

Tammy is truly gifted at putting together a tribute video. I told her she should be a producer. She really captured our daughter's spirit. She even made last minute changes with ease.

The pastor we had chosen to perform the service was going to be out of town. Burt put us in touch with one that was wonderful. He made sure everything was set up right and that the service went smoothly. We knew there would be a big turnout and he had no problem with it.

We've had dealings with several other establishments in the business and I have to say they don't hold a candle to these folks. The owner, Jerry Monaghan, even made a point to come and introduce himself to us.

Unfortunately it's inevitable that we will need these services again. We will never use any other funeral home.

Jerry Monaghan and his staff took care of my mama in 2015. Then again with the passing of my daddy, on January 28, 2019.

Burt and Tammy along with their staff were my right arm.

The video they put together was BEAUTIFUL the music was breathtaking!

They took care of us during our break on visitation night.

Tammy is a sweetheart, so compassionate, kind and loving.

Burt, always had kind words and he was there to do what was needed. Or he was more than happy to change something for me.

I received so many compliments on how BEAUTIFUL daddy's casket was.
Also, how smoothly everything went at visitation, the funeral and at the cemetery.

We were drawn to Monghans, by neighborhood reputation, and proximity to my brother's residence for the last 15 years.

Our pre-planning sessions with Burt and Tammy were always cordial and informative, with options being fully discussed and appropriate suggestion made. Since my brother was to be buried in Maryland, Burt took extra care in dealing with the receiving cemetery and arranging for a Maryland Funeral Director to handle the final arrangements

When the day of need arose, the team at Monaghan's solemnly attended to their tasks. The preparations were impeccable, the staff was professional and supportive.

Thank you all so much for your support, guidance & love in saying goodbye to Butch, our beloved Husband & Father, who passed away on December 10, 2015. Throughout the most heartwrenching experience of our lives, you all made it so beautiful & memorable.  All of our needs were met even before we had to ask. Such a wonderful, thoughtful job was done in preparing Butch, he looked so handsome & at peace. We were so thankful for the suggestion of making the flower arrangement out of Butch's mounted prized citation bass.  It was so beautiful on the casket & we know Butch would have been so proud & pleased. They honor family in every sense of the word. A special thanks to Jerry for joining us on rainy Monday to honor and toast Dad at our unique graveside send off.
