Jennings, Jr., Robert (Bob) Meredith 93, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed away on March 5, 2024. He was born on September 18, 1930, in Richmond, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert M. Jennings, Sr., and Edith Pellam Pettit Jennings. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Barbara S. (“BJ”) Jennings; children, David (Mickey), Kim Murray, and Bobby; grandchildren Chrissie (Jason) Slater; DJ (Elyse) Jennings; Sean Murray; and Candice (Lukasz) Murray; and great-grandson Jackson Jennings; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Jennings proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine for three years (plus seven years in the Marine Corps Reserves) and received the Purple Heart for his service in the Korean War. After 20 years, He retired as truck sales manager from Emerick Chevrolet. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at the Church of the Redeemer and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9808, both in Mechanicsville. Bob was a life member of the Henrico Volunteer Rescue Squad. Mr. Jennings loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and the World Series. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Church of the Redeemer, 8275 Meadowbridge Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
