Donna Dale Pinnix, 1941-2024
Donna Pinnix, 82, laid her cares to rest on Sunday after a long struggle with ill health. Born in Texas, Donna was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, daughter of R. Allen and Rossa Smith Pinnix.
A graduate of Curry High School, Greensboro, NC and studied at VCU, Donna was a career artist and art enthusiast. Employed for much of her career in Creative Services at Richmond Times-Dispatch, Donna focused her passion on designing award-winning advertising.
A life-long advocate for the rights of animals, Donna worked tirelessly to pass a state-wide mandatory spay/neuter bill in Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please donate, in Donna’s name, to local spay and neuter clinics near you.
Survived by her many generations of rescue animals, and by her sister Martha Pinnix O’Keefe as well as niece Cathleen O’Keefe and husband Charles Kittredge, nephew Shawn O’Keefe and wife Stephanie Danis, cousins and long-time friends, Donna was much loved, and will be mourned by many.
The family would to celebrate her life with friends Sun, March 10, between 3-6 pm. Please email marthaok@comcast.net to RSVP.
