Diane Marie (Monk) Phillips

PHILLIPS, Diane M., 64, of Powhatan, VA, formerly of Midlothian, VA, left this earth peacefully on March 27, 2024. Diane is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Lauren Ann Helfert, and her father, Donald Nelson Monk. She is survived by her husband, William Phillips; her children, Brynn Ervin, Daniel Helfert, and Michael Helfert; five grandchildren; the father of her children, John Helfert; her mother, Mary Ellen Monk; five siblings, Patty, Donnie, Mary Ellen, Michael, and Julie; their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews. Diane was born in Malvern, PA, but had called the Richmond, VA area home since 1978. She loved her family above all else, including her dog, Lucy. Diane enjoyed spending time on the Rappahannock River and the Chesapeake Bay, reading crime novels, and doting on her grandchildren. She also enjoyed hosting family functions and visiting relatives in Pennsylvania. She worked for St. Edward Catholic Church for 20 years. Diane was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Dr, North Chesterfield, VA 23235, with a reception to follow. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Richmond SPCA or the charity of your choice.
