Deborah Jo Davis

DAVIS, Deborah Jo (Ashcraft) 71, of Newalla OK, departed this life on March 29, 2024. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK, to Josephine Juanita McDonald and Louis Marion Ashcraft. Debbie was the youngest of Juanita and Louis’ six children; Richard Rogers, Ginger Rogers, Jimmy Rogers, Louis (Buddy) Ashcraft and Patricia (Ashcraft) Palmer. Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Wayne Davis and her daughter, Kelly Michelle Davis.  She is survived by her son, Richard Wayne Davis (Carol), and youngest daughter, Susan Dawn Johnson (Geoff). She had 8 grandchildren, Mark Larson, Amanda Brown, Natasha Marks, Lindsey Reinhart, Riley Davis, Richard Davis II (Ricky), Destiny Johnson, and Gabriel Johnson whom she loved dearly and always wished she got to see more.  Debbie also leaves behind many dear great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Debbie graduated from SE High School in the class of 1971 and went on to receive an associate degree from Oklahoma City Community College.  She made her career as a medical records technician for Central State Hospital. Debbie liked to do all sorts of arts and crafts but was especially talented at folk art painting.  She was known as the “fun mom”, often chaperoning school field trips and attending her children’s band, chorus, and sporting events.  She loved house plants, flowers (especially roses), and road trips to anywhere, but she was often the most content with a cat in her lap and basketball on the TV. Debbie cared deeply for the people around her. She will be forever missed. The family will receive friends for a Visitation, Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 1-3 pm at Monaghan Funeral Home 7300 Creighton Pkwy Mechanicsville VA 23111.
